What is walnut oil?
Walnut oil is a premium oil extracted from the nuts of the walnut tree. The process involves pressing the nuts until all the oil is released, resulting in a rich, delicate, and subtly sweet nutty flavour that mirrors the taste of fresh walnuts. Unlike typical cooking oils, walnut oil is best used with little to no heat, making it ideal as a finishing touch or condiment. Its versatility shines when drizzled over dishes, adding a sophisticated depth and a hint of natural sweetness.
What are the benefits of walnut oil?
Much like the walnuts themselves, walnut oil is packed with health benefits. Here’s why you should consider adding this nutritional powerhouse to your kitchen:
High in Omega-3:
Of the nut oils available, walnut oil contains one of the highest levels of omega-3 essential fatty acids. Walnuts are renowned for their high omega-3 content, which plays a crucial role in promoting heart health, reducing inflammation, and boosting brain function.
Gluten-Free and Suitable for Special Diets
Walnut oil is a fantastic gluten-free option, making it an excellent alternative for those with gluten sensitivities or celiac disease.
Packed with Antioxidants
Walnuts are loaded with antioxidants that help combat oxidative stress in the body, supporting overall immune health and promoting longevity.

I lived in southern France for a couple of years, on a small farm which had 2 enormous walnut trees. Every year the owners took bucket after bucket of walnuts to the local oil press and made the year’s walnut oil. It was sensational! I have not seen any fresh walnut oil in Australia until I saw yours on your website. I quickly ordered some and it is absolutely add good as that in France. I am using it every day while it is so sparkling fresh and fragrant. It brings back wonderful memories too.
Thank you for making it!
Kind regards,
Kate
