About Coaldale Walnuts

Coaldale Walnuts is a family business producing walnuts and pickled walnuts in southern Tasmania.

Coaldale Walnuts was established in 1997 with Franquette and Chandler grafted varieties planted in the deep alluvial soils on the banks of the Coal River near the historic town of Richmond.

Over the years, the business expanded to include walnuts grown throughout the Coal River valley. Value-adding through pickled walnuts continues to be a growth area of the business, now the largest producer of pickled walnuts in Australia. The most recent addition is agritourism, with a popular annual open farm event held each May and regular farm tours
