The ultimate warming breakfast! As well as a lovely nutty flavour, the walnut flour adds extra protein and fibre for a healthy start to the day.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup rolled oats (80g)
- 3 tbs walnut flour (24g)
- ¼ tsp cinnamon
- 1 apple, cored and grated (we leave the skin on, but peel if you wish)
- 2 cups boiling water
Method:
- Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan and simmer over low heat, stirring to make sure it doesn’t stick to the bottom, for around 10 min until the porridge is thick and the oats have broken down. Add a little more water if necessary.
- Serve with milk and brown sugar.
