Second generation joins Coaldale Walnuts family business

Coaldale Walnuts is now officially a multi-generation family business, with Phil and Jane’s daughter Sophie and son-in-law Brad becoming business partners this month.

Phil and Jane are excited to have new skills and energy in the business as it continues to grow. It also allows them to work towards a well-earned retirement with the knowledge that the business into which they’ve put immeasurable heart and soul will continue to flourish.

Sophie and Brad moved their young family from Adelaide earlier in the year to live on the farm. They bring business skills from their corporate experience and are eager apprentices when it comes to farming and food processing.

“Becoming part of the family business gives us an opportunity to join the exciting food production scene in Tasmania – in particular, in the Coal Valley – and to continue to grow the Coaldale Walnuts brand,” Brad said.

“Phil and Jane have built a strong business based on great quality, delicious walnuts and we’re enthusiastic about the future possibilities.”

Sophie and Brad’s children, Jasper and Annie, are – of course – essential farm helpers.

As a new four-person team, we have lots of ideas and long term plans but for now we’ll all be focusing on continuing to do what we do best – growing great walnuts (together!).
