At Coaldale Walnuts, we’re serious about sustainability, and it’s time to turn our attention to our post packaging for online orders. We are on our way to using completely home compostable packaging and if you’ve ordered recently, you may have received your parcel in a home-compostable and re-useable post-pack. We’d love any feedback about the new packaging and how your items arrived.
For a small business like ours, there’s a bit of a journey to get to where we want to be, so bear with us as we use up our existing stocks of non-compostable packaging and gradually transition to 100% compostable. Eventually all of our bags, boxes, packing material, labels and tape will all be home compostable.
We’ve updated our shipping costs to reflect the new post packaging, as well as changes to Australia Post pricing. This doesn’t just mean an increase – for some parcel types, the cost has actually decreased (hooray!).
We’ve also made some changes to the products available in our online store to reflect these changes.
The largest quantity we now offer for in-shell walnuts is 4kg. This means we can offer a shipping at a flat rate that’s more affordable for customers, as postage rates for 5kg of walnuts (or more) increase significantly. You can, of course, order multiple lots of 4kg, and we’ll do our best to keep the postage costs as affordable as we can.
