We entered our walnut kernel and pickled walnuts in the National Food Awards in Melbourne last month we are thrilled to announce that have won gold for both! The judges gave the pickled walnuts 98 points out of 100 and commented:
“Excellent pickled walnuts. Very well balanced and delicious pickling liquor subtly flavouring the fruit; very nice choice of spicing. The integrity of these good quality fruit has been well maintained in the pickling process and handling, with excellent presentation. Outstanding product!”
Our walnut kernel was awarded 100 points so it can’t get much better. The judges commented:
“A perfect example of a walnut, tight, flavoursome, bitter and sweet. Great texture too.”
We will just have too keep doing what we do best – grow great walnuts!
